Neo South Island

Since the admins and mods themselves are not here to declare this themselves. I guess I will do so.

Rest In Peace Neo South Island. You will certainly be missed.

Since I had joined this place a few years ago, this place was still somewhat new and bustling with activity of its own. The Main Characters were active, people were active, I was active. The place was great. I thought I had found a place that I could fit into, a place where I could share my interests with people, and Role-Play a character I had taken so long to build up.

However, we all know what they say about life. It is short, and as such peoples priorities change, people move on...While it is indeed sad, its a fact of life. One that cannot, and will not, ever be easily changed.

Forums die, and people change, but this venture by far has been the longest running forum I have been actively a part of for a number of years. There was Dot Hack Encryption, EXE WARRIORS, and a few others, but Neo South Island by far has been the place I have felt the most welcome, and it is the one site I have had interactions with people that didn't always end in a verbal flame war.

This has been a great time you guys...So until next time.

Hi. I do believe I'm an admin and I do believe I'm here. When NSI does go down for real, it won't be your decision and it certainly isn't now.

You know what saddens me though? All the people who complained about lack of activity did nothing to help. "OMG nothing's happening! Well then, guess I'll just wait" isn't really the best attitude to have.

But honestly, I don't think it's dead, it's just hit a bit of a dry spell. There's still plenty of us coming around from time to time, I just think we're all waiting for someone else to post. Maybe if a new Sonic game comes out to discuss :S

I'm sure it'll come back in a while.

Edit 2: I feel like such an @$$hole laughing at this first post. I just can't help it. I just want to die of laughter. Yes, its been really f*cking quiet, I wish there was maybe more discussion in the normal areas around here like there used to be. Nobody can pin that I have not tried, since I've been around here and I've been a pretty talkative dude. I've tried in the past to at least post in mostly every topic that had some discussion I could get into :P. Yeah, I've been a slacker with RP as of late but that is just because my heart isn't really there anymore. Who knows, maybe eventually I'll get back into it!

But to declare the site dead the way you did...is just...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA. PLEASE DON'T WARN ME GUYS, I am trying not to break the rule of flaming but this is almost like a flame to the site itself so it balances out hahaha. I just...I'm CRYING I'm laughing so hard. Especially the line about 'a normal member' hahahaha.

Well.. Thsi site is in need of a bit of spring cleaning.

But yeah, some people do have lives. And I'm sorry I haven't been around.

I still like Sonic, but I'm afraid it's not as much as I used to.



As a random question, would a new design perhaps sound nifty, at least?

I was thinking of updating the board to a newer version of InvisionBoard.

And, FYI, this domain will never expire. Cause I bought, like, a stupid long time amount of domain time + server time for super cheap. XD;; It's got 2 years left at least before I need to renew/

Doesn't it usually cost a lot of money to upgrade to a newer version of IPB?

But please keep the normal/light/dark sort of theme; Most people would vote to use a dark skin, but they destroy my eyes; I NEED a light skin for the places I go. X_x RB.com obliterates my eyes.

That is still a lot of money...perhaps maybe once the site gets more active again?

As for skins and whatnot, I believe we should hold back on those perhaps for a while, one skin probably wouldn't hurt though! I think the main priority is to find some way to re-energize the RP section of the site (the sites' main draw after all), and to get some new blood flowin' in around here. Project NSI sort of has been in limbo for a long time, I'm thinking maybe scrapping that and starting a fresh new project with a new sense of enthusiasm behind it would be a great start! I'm not really much of an RPer these days, but if you guys ever need any help feel free to just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do!

Anyway, I probably wont be able to RP here anymore.. I think that part of me is just gone, my imagination on that end is practically dead x.x; I think I tried a good while ago, but failed xD

Saying that I don't have the time to go here and participate would be a lie.. but I gotta prioritize pretty much all of my sparetime, so besides a bit of chit-chat, it's all down studying, housekeeping ( been living on my own for a year now ), keeping in touch with friends, practicing music.. times are just much different now. It's been a good 5 years here on my end, and I have no intentions of abandoning this place..

On the positive side, I'd be capable of contributing with content for this place in terms of games, updates whatever. The semester I've just been through was all about webprogramming.. only "bad" thing is that I chose the .NET path and ended up doing ASP.NET and C# rather than plain html and PHP ( which this site supports ). This is something I wouldn't mind investing time in, as it's beneficial in many ways =) I'm just wondering if this is what this place needs =/

RP is good and all... But I don't think that it may be the direction to go anymore.

I lvoe this place, don't get me wrong. I just don't have time.

My interests are really starting to wane, and from work, home, and sleeping, all I want to do is just veg with a game for a few hours. I don't want to draw, or RP or anything I used to find fun. It sux, but ... I dunno.

Oh trust me, I do know the feeling. I've been swamped with HW though, so I barely had time for anything else really this past month...but my free time usually goes towards drawing anyway now! I just want to keep improving my artwork, so I draw...and play BlazBlue and guitar haha.

...I think I could come up with a Skin...it would take some time though. The decision however is ultimately up to Cinna and Kuro.
