Sega has officially given up... I mean, screw the fact that there's a hell of a lot more that can be done with this series. No, let's just go right back where they started and play the same damn thing, purely because of the bitching and moaning everyone's been doing since 2004. This'll either be like daytime Unleashed or just HD Genesis and I don't see the former happening if that terribly old-school emblem is any indication. And I just KNOW that certain members of this fanbase are currently going nuts, praising the heavens and, worst of all, bragging and rubbing their "victory" into everyone's faces (don't deny it). To me, it seems like Sega has officially given up. |

Hey, Ryan... Do you have to be upset about everything SEGA does? Just askin'; you're usually the first one to react when someone else is doing it, so I'm just wondering why you're doing it now, is all.
Either way, another 2D Sonic sounds fine to me, it'll please a lot of classic fans if it's good, and it might look incredibly pretty too, assuming it's hand drawn 2D graphics as they've hinted to. I just hope they get the physics engine right, and that there's no boost button. Other than that, It's cool with me assuming the levels are well designed, etc. Yep. |

How is this giving up? I welcome this with awesomely open arms. Besides, lots of people rub into others faces about 'omg new 3D tietl so glad they don uze crppy 2D, that go backurds' so...in this fandom there is always that two way street.
I could go on about how excited I am, but I won't. All I'm going to say is that there is nothing wrong with this direction, and chances are there will be more 3D games anyway. |

So then... Finally doing something that your diehard fanbase has been constantly asking and wishing for, for nearly 10 years, based on a concept that has been proven to work and has spawned some of the all-time classics of gaming is considered "giving up"...? Wow, I don't know what you're having, but it sounds pretty potent!
I really don't know what to think about this game. I mean, I really wish I could just be happy and celebrate, but one thing that I have learned as a fan is not to have high expectations, because then if a game isn't that great you can just shrug it off and think "Eh, didn't expect it to be good anyway" and if it DOES turn out to be good, then you get a nice surprise. But you know what? I think that regardless of how this turns out, there's at least one good thing to keep in mind: They're at least trying, and it's all that matters. That makes me happy. EDIT: Oh, I'll be changing the title of this topic now. |

Yeah, I can't believe that they're giving up on us like this! They're stooping so low that they actually had to use suggestions from their older fanbase! How pathetic!
They should be more original and do their own ideas... but maybe it's not too late for them to turn it around! (IMG:http://www.kombo.com/images/blurb_needlemouserevealed_20090911.gif) |

This game's official title is "Sonic the Hedgehog 4". Oh sh*t. xD It better live up to expectations now, or it's doomed.

Naming it that is flawed in every way, if you ask me, but hopefully it means that they're willing to put enough effort into the game to make it worthy of its name!

I guess it's a nice way they can go "All that other stuff? Yeah? That never happened."
I mean, it has the potential to do well if done absolutely perfectly, but really even a slight mistake and this ruins the original game series, as you'd really have to tag it along. I sure hope they know what they're doing :S |

Well the classic games were not perfect either, they were glitchy at times too etc. So I think slight mistakes (which happen in every game ever) is perfectly fine, since no game can be done perfectly lol.
But yeah, excited...and I'm holding off on it being Sonic 4 until they reveal it tomorrow :D. |

"Excrement" certainly seems pretty fitting of this game so far. |

I don't think so, I've been pleased with everything that I have seen so far. The music isn't as epic as I thought, though there are some nice tracks. The game is bright and vibrant, and sure its modern Sonic (LOLOL) and not sprited (this actually bummed me out at first I admit) but it looks solid enough.
I can't wait for it to come out. |

It doesn't look too bad, don't get me wrong, but I do have a problem with the title. It's not Sonic 4 by any means, it's more of a Sonic Advance 4 or Sonic Rush 3.
